I Should Be Writing

I mean, I know I should be writing.

I should be coming up with ideas, writing drafts, making a “plan”.

I really, really should be writing…

Instead I am:

• Sending Rosh Hashanah memes to my friends

• Wishing for a day without at least one load of laundry

• Listening to the sounds of my son definitely not kick a toy across the house I told him not to kick

• Watching videos of people either sincerely explaining or openly mocking a tiktok rapture (what even is this sentence)

• Twirling my hair while trying to lower my heart rate… while reading the news

• Wondering if the spot on the counter that I clean daily misses me when I forget it

• Debating if I really need to catch up on the latest stream of misinformation

• Staring. Just blankly staring

If you’ve been in a weird loop of wanting to create but not knowing where to start, just know: you’re not alone. Maybe the pause is the process.
